Learning objectives and previous competences

My learning goal is to be aware of the most important developments in the tourism and hospitality industry. I want to understand the changes in the needs and expectations of key stakeholders in the industry over time. I also want to understand the purpose of cultural diversity in the field of tourism and hospitality and to identify the most important organisational cultural models. I also want to be aware of the key drivers of change and trends related to the future prospects of the tourism and hospitality industry.

I started working in customer service more than 20 years ago. I started working in the retail sector, then studied tourism and worked in a hotel. After that, I started my public health nursing studies 2005, and in 2009 I graduated as a public health nurse and nurse. In 2015, I specialised as an occupational health nurse. I am currently working as a nurse and I want to get back into tourism and retrain as a tourism professional.

My strength is customer work and I strive to meet customers in a way that is genuinely present, appreciates them and strives to serve them wholeheartedly. I am innovative and independent and I want to act as a supervisor in the future. Young entrepreneurs will be sorely needed in the future because former companies are leaving. Thus, I can earn a living and employ other people. I also want to have more freedom and responsibility when working for myself.

I have worked as a nurse with a challenging client group. They face mental health challenges and are active substance abusers. I accept difference and respect human dignity. In particular, I want to develop my skills in language learning and technology. And I need to know the basics of financial management and business.
